SUMMARY
Shelby Thatcher loves working in her grandmother's small-town bookstore in Grandville, NC. She even inherits it after her grandma's passing. But to her surprise, Gram leaves half of the bookstore’s ownership to Gray, an old boyfriend of Shelby’s who left town after high school, which devastates Shelby and angers her family. Gray, returning after years, struggles with the town's hostility and seeing Shelby again. As they work together, old emotions, past issues, and new threats to the bookstore threaten their relationship.

Author Denise Hunter, brings each character to life with warmth and depth, making them feel like old friends. The writing is enjoyable and smoothly paced, keeping the story clever and engaging. Narrator Kim Churchill, brings the story to life with a narration that nicely matches the plot.
