About Me

I grew up at the library. I was there every Saturday morning checking out piles of books. When I was in high school I worked at the library and read everything I could. My “to be read” pile continues to grow today. Books always take me somewhere special. Now I love reading or listening to the latest and greatest books. My favorite genres are fiction, mysteries and biographies. In 2019, my focus is once again on books with strong women characters or books by fabulous female authors. I love books where women are empowered and make a difference by overcoming adversity and taking care of themselves.

I love hanging out in bookstores and the beach. There is absolutely nothing better than reading a good book on a Florida beach. Pure heaven. I love historical, literary or women fiction, mysteries, thrillers, biographies, memoirs, true crime or history. As all my friends know, I talk about books constantly, and I participate in several book clubs, including the BlueStocking Society Book Club. A Bluestocking is a woman having intellectual or literary interests, hence the name of my blog. It's a throw back term from 18th century England women's literary society.
