How One Simple Act Can Change Everything
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
SUMMARY
Nisha Cantor’s gym bag was stolen from the locker room. In addition to her Chanel jacket, there were a pair of specially designed Christian Louboutin red crocodile shoes with six-inch heels in the bag. When she finally returns to the hotel in London where she and her uber-wealthy husband are temporarily living, her day only worsens. Her husband of almost two decades has taken up with a new woman, and he has locked Nisha out of their Penthouse suite without a thing. He even had her physically removed from the hotel. She has no purse, no clothes, and no money. What will she do without anything and no friends to help?
Sam Kemp is a middle-aged, hardworking sales representative with an unemployed and clinically depressed husband. She is desperately trying to keep her family from bankruptcy. Her jerk of a boss is out to get her. In his eyes, she can’t do anything right and he takes a perverse pleasure in publicly humiliating her. Sam's life becomes twisted when she accidentally takes the wrong bag from the gym. She has to go on an important sales call with her coworkers, but she has no shoes but the intimidating red heels in the black bag. So unlike anything she has ever worn before. On her first sales call, the client thinks she is drunk because of her wobbly walk and refuses to give her his business. As she gets used to wearing someone else’s shoes, her confidence builds, and she realizes some things in her life have to change.
REVIEW
Some One Else’s Shoes is a story about how one simple act can change everything in someone’s life. The setting is London during the pandemic. The writing is funny, dramatic, and suspenseful, with a little bit of romance thrown in.
The female characters are delightful. They are real women with flaws, secrets, and problems. A trophy wife, an overworked menopausal mom, a cancer patient, and a single mom working multiple jobs make this book a joy! You will laugh, you will cry, you will worry, and you will smile.
Thanks to Netgalley for an advance reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
