A PULSE-POUNDING GOOD STORY

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

SUMMARY

NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas faces one of the most brutally violent crime scenes of her career when she is called to investigate the murder of biotech executive Larry Chu. The victim has been beaten so severely that it seems almost impossible for a single unarmed attacker to have committed the crime. The murder was fueled by overwhelming personal rage.  Eve uncovers evidence pointing to something much larger: secret offshore bank accounts, a powerful and ethically questionable biotechnology company, and layers of deception that extend far beyond a single victim. Drawing on her own past to understand the psychology behind the crimes, Eve and her team—including her husband, Roarke—must unravel a web of corporate secrets, revenge, and hidden motives before the violence escalates again. Fury in Death is the 63rd installment in J.D. Robb’s long-running In Death series.

REVIEW

Fury in Death is a pulse-pounding good story.  It’s true to J.D. Robb’s (Nora Roberts) signature blend of a tightly constructed police procedural, futuristic technology, compelling character relationships, and emotional depth.

The theme explores the shocking depths people will go to for revenge. Robb harnesses the killer’s grief and anger to fuel a relentless flow of suspense. You’ll be lucky to catch your breath.

Character development is strong, and I particularly admire Eve Dallas for her intelligence, emotional strength, resilience, and, most of all, her determination. Having read many books in the series, I am already familiar with many of the recurring characters, so this was an enjoyable and easy read.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advance copy of this book. All opinions expressed here are my own.
